By applying through us, not only will you get assistance on parts that may be tricky, but you also help our program grow and succeed! 
 

We recommend bringing hard copies of the following to your appointment with the County Representative:

  • Copy of ID (Driver's license, passport, student ID)
  • Social Security Number (you only need to know the number)
  • copies of deductible child care expenses
  • Copies of deductible medical expenses if you are disabled or over 60
  • Employment verification for the last thirty days showing gross income (before deductions)       
  • Copy of your Class schedule 
  • If you are employed but have not been paid yet, you must be able to verify your hourly rate, pay frequency, employer name and expected first day of payment
  • Provide a complete Application! providing a complete application with supporting documents can increase your application processing time and get you benefits faster!

It is up to you whether you want to bring these documents with you to submit all at once while working with us, or to submit on your own time. You have 30 days to submit all supporting documents from the day you send in your initial application. 

within two weeks of submitting your application , you will receive an appointment letter in the mail with the date and time of your interview.

The SRJC Outreach team will reach out to you within two weeks to check in on your application process and assist with any road bumps you might experience, such as providing additional documentation to the county or following up if your case has been denied.
